Ideal candidate must have a BSN with two years of nursing experience and graduated from an accredited Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Education Program.

Salary Range: Min- $79,600  Mid- $99,500  Max- 119,400

Job Summary:
Provides, coordinates and supports clinical aspects of care for patients with wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) care needs.

Scope:
Impacts the quality of care for WOC patients across the institution.

Essential Job Functions:
Manages outcomes for wound, ostomy and continence patients across the continuum of care by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care. Acts as a specialty consultant to physicians, nurses, physical therapists and patients for provision of WOC care for all areas. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assess patient needs for nursing care, patient/family education and other services. Coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum WOC patient care and efficient use of resources. Integrates knowledge of age-specific care, principles of oncology practice, institutional goals and standards, current professional practice standards and the WOC Nurses Society Standards in providing care. Integrates results and theories of research studies to improve care and actively participates in data collection and analysis. Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, coordination of services and education. With the assistance of the WOC nurse educational program instructors and the senior WOC nurses, demonstrates competency as a classroom and clinical educator to staff, patients/caregivers, participants of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse Educational Program and the Nursing Outreach Program.

REQUIREMENTS

 

Experience 
Required: Two years registered nursing experience.
Preferred: Five years relevant clinical nursing experience.

 

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Graduation from an accredited Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Education Program.

Preferred: Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).

Licensure/Certification
Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
Preferred: Current credential from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
