Research Assistant I position in Pediatrics Research
 
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.  The primary purpose of the Research Assistant position is to manage a large colony of experimental animals and conduct various assigned research projects in Pediatrics Research.
 
Salary Range: $30,400 - $38,000 - $45,600
 
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Research -Performs tissue culture experiments with Sarcoma cell lines and treat with different targeted agents; perform western blot and flow cytometry analysis.  Assist faculty and staff in the lab with the generation of patient derived xenograft models.

Conducts experiments and research projects in scientific fields under the supervision of faculty, educational or classified research staff.
 
Data Capture and Analysis Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested. Attends and participates in scheduled laboratory meetings with primary lab and collaborative lab groups.
 
Equipment and Supplies Utilizes laboratory equipment to carry out experiments.
 
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences. One year of experience in scientific or experimental research. Preferred experience with non-viral transfection methods for human cells, and handling/manipulation of laboratory animals.
