This position is responsible for facilitating project management and business process improvement activities for Clinical Support Services.  Activities include data and process analysis, identification of solutions, participate in solution implementation, monitor results and suggest changes, as appropriate, with assigned projects and in collaboration with project team members and management.  This position will provide a communication link between CSS department directors and the Director of Clinical Support Services Administration and the Vice President for Clinical Support Services. 

 

Project Management:  Develops, analyzes, and manages department, division and institutional projects as assigned. 
•           Develops project plans that are strategically aligned, identifies key issues, problems, approaches, performance metrics and resources required.
•           Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets and status reports.
•           Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project deliverables.
•           Coordinates and schedules resources to satisfy the project goals, including project milestones, cost targets and product quality.
•           Proactively identifies and mitigates project risks through effective project management of resources.
•           Prepare and communicate program and project overviews and status reports to CSS leadership
•           Identifies data needs and requirements proactively.  Assumes final responsibility for the integrity of projects through coordination, identification of scope and impact, data gathering strategy, effective presentation and assessment of implications.
•           Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with CSS, other experts throughout the organization and institutional leadership to assure advancement of multidisciplinary operational projects and programs.

 

Business Process Management and Analysis:   Provides expert analytical and business process leadership to highly visible, sensitive and multifaceted projects and operational issues including space, staffing, productivity, and budgets.
•           Conducts analysis and assessment of operational programs, processes and outcomes utilizing quantitative tools and methods to identify performance issues.
•           Designs processes to address identified problems and monitor performance.
•           Gathers data and develops and implements analytical tools, reports and scorecards and makes recommendations for improvement
•           Educates CSS leadership on the application and interpretation of reports and data analysis
•           Drives efforts to overcome obstacles and active resistance to change by utilizing effective negotiation and communication skills.
•           Prepares and analyzes business plans for short and long term objectives.

 

Strategic Planning:   Plans, directs and coordinates the strategic planning and performance improvement efforts for the CSS Division.
•           Works with the CSS Division leadership to formulate strategies, set priorities, goals and objectives to implement long term strategic plans.
•           Identifies and implements strategies to improve efficiency within the division.
•           Provides oversight and planning for division strategic related projects.

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration or related field. 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years of project management experience in a health care or academic environment.
