Prog Dir, Communications - SAHL UAT
Oversees the management of the clinical research programs within a medicine department. Evaluates programs, develops strategic business plans and provides direction for all programs and activities. Oversees financial management for all clinical research budgets. Recruits, hires, evaluates and disciplines staff. Ensures effective utilization of personnel and space. Provides training and professional development opportunities for staff. Assures that institutional policies and procedures are followed. Meets with Principal Investigators and study sponsors of proposed research protocols which includes overseeing the protocol development process. Develops and maintains Quality Assurance mechanisms. Maintains and schedules audits of the community affiliates according to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) guidelines. Oversees and trains the research personnel in the auditing process. Assists the Medical Director in planning the annual meeting for community physicians and research personnel. Prepares reports as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field. Seven years of experience public relations, communications, writing/editing or related field and three years of lead/project management/supervisory/management experience. With preferred degree, five years of required experience.
