Clinical Nurse- Melanoma/Sarcoma Unit (G10W) Shift: 7pm-7am

The Melanoma/Sarcoma unit is a medical unit that sees stage 3-4 melanoma patients. Usual treatments provided include: biochemotherapy. Also see sarcoma patients that have co-morbidities and are unable to receive their treatment in the ambulatory center, usual treatment – high dose chemotherapy. For GI patients who are coming in for medical concerns such as pain control, end of life issues, etc., most have tubes and drains. Other common therapies on the floor include: intra-arterial, intrathecal, and oral bioimmunotherpay and chemotherapy. Have 4 telemetry monitored beds for patients receiving high dose bolus IL-2 with/without T-lymphocytes, with/without dendritic cells, and for solid tumor patients receiving adaptimmune therapy.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical unit. Shift will be 7pm – 7am and 26 out of 52 weekend shifts per year.

Salary Range-  Min: $56,000  Mid: $78,500  Max: $110,000

Participates in data collection for current studies. Documents care according to established standards. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services. Acts as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights. Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.
