Pharmacy Technician Inpatient - (3:00pm - 11:30pm)

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Unit Dose Processing and Distribution
1. Accurately and efficiently fill unit dose carts and first doses
2. Accurately and efficiently pull drugs to refill controlled access cabinets
3. Accurately and efficiently deliver medications/supplies to designated areas
4. Order medications/supplies to maintain appropriate par levels
5. Restock medications/supplies
Sterile and Nonsterile Compounding/Preparations
1. Accurately and efficiently prepare all types of sterile products including SVP, LVP, chemotherapy, biotherapy and investigational agents
2. Accurately and efficiently prepare extemporaneous compounds
3. Repackaging bulk medications
4. Order medications/supplies to maintain appropriate par levels
5. Restock medications/supplies
Quality Assurance/Improvement and Project Management
1. Completes all assigned Quality Assurance and productivity reports including record keeping and appropriate follow up
2. Researches/monitors problems, initiates corrective acction and follow through until challenge is resolved
3. Consistently provides input/suggestions for process improvements
4. Completes/maintains all Institutional/Divisional requirements for licensure, mandatory education and testing. Including but not limited to EEE, Infection Control, TB testing and IV process validation
5. Develop, implement and/or support special projects throughout the institution
6. Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times
Education Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
Technical School
Certification Required:
Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas
State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).
Preferred Certification:
ACPE approved IV (sterile products) certification
Experience Required:
None.
Preferred Experience:
1 year experience in hospital pharmacy
Onsite Presence: Is Required
Must pass pre-employment skills a test as required and
administered by Human Resources.
