Executive Director, Research Grants & Contracts

The Executive Director, Research Grants & Contracts provides oversight for all phases of post-award management and support for sponsored projects. The Executive Director oversees the business operations of extramural funding of research and other sponsored programs and ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations pertaining to post-award grants administration.  The staff includes Award Management, Financial Management and Data and Systems Management teams.  Overall, the Grants & Contracts Office provides post-award accounting and administration for research grants and sponsored agreements. 

• Ten years of experience in research administration to include three years of leadership. 
• Experience with pre-award and post-award functions within an academic medical center.
• Experience using financial accounting systems or fund accounting systems.
• Demonstrated staff management and operational management expertise, including leading organizational-change initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree.
