Coordinator, Patient Services- (G10E) Gynecology/ Radiation Day/ Evening Shift
Patient Service Coordinator position on our Gynecology/ Radiation Unit
Gynecologic Radiation is a 25 bed unit which cares for patients of all ages. This unit has gynecology, thoracic, head and neck, ophthalmology and pediatric patients receiving their radiation treatment. This unit also cares for Gynecological surgical and medical oncology patients.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years recent work experience. Prefer at least one year of recent patient care experience. Good customer services and communication skills is key as you will be interacting with patients, family members, staff and physicians in person and over the phone. Scheduling patient’s visits and physician’s appointments.
Must be able to work a combination of 8 hour shifts which include: 6:45 am – 3:15 pm, 8 am - 4:30 pm, and 9:30 am - 6 pm; and 26 out of 52 weekends per year.
Accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area. Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team. Collaborates with physicians, other services, patient and patient's family to plan care and evaluate outcomes. Improves practice by integrating results and theories of research studies. Participates in data collection for current studies. Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies. Documents care according to established standards. Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Assures continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services. Acts as a patient and family advocate in order to uphold patient rights. Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.
High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of relevant work experience. May substitute additional education for required experience on a one to one basis. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
