MD Anderson's Tumor Registry
The mission of MD Anderson’s Tumor Registry is to contribute to the knowledge of patient care, research and prevention through the collection of complete, accurate and timely data, and by ongoing follow-up of our patients.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Abstracts and codes information from patient medical records to obtain clinical and reporting data using established classification systems.
- Maintains high quality of abstracted data and reviews peers for quality control.
- Participates on special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate's degree or higher; preference for medical terminology training (such as classes including Anatomy & Physiology).
Experience
Required: Two years of experience in Tumor Registry, healthcare, or related field.
Additional years of education may be substituted for required experience on a one to one year basis.
