The primary purpose of the Technology Analyst is to facilitate the disclosure of new inventions and will advise inventors on additional research they could perform to maximize the commercial value of their inventions.
***Ideal candidate will have PhD. degree with experience in Oncology field and Technology Transfer, Licensing and/or Intellectual property.***
Salary Range: Min $78,800 - Mid $98,500 - Max $118,200
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Technology Assessment Evaluate all new invention disclosures for patentability and market potential
IP Strategy Provide guidance and advice to inventors regarding patentable claims and research activities that would lead to commercially valuable patents
Licensing Prepare, negotiate and close license agreements with licensees.
Marketing Identify and contact companies that may be interested in licensing new inventions.nvention, potential markets, and applications of invention or products).
Faculty Contact Respond to and initiate contacts with faculty regarding their inventions and new ideas for inventions
Faculty Assistance Provide assistance to inventors in completing Invention Disclosure Reports, reviewing lab notes for support documentation, reviewing inventor’s public disclosure plans and identifying alternatives, if available.
Faculty Education Provide assistance to inventors by explaining the patent application and prosecution process.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related degree.
Preferred: PhD.
Experience
Required: Five years of experience in intellectual property, technology transfer, biotechnology industry, commercialization process or related. With preferred Master's degree, three years of required experience. With preferred PhD, one year of required experience.
