Ideal candidate will be able to work Monday-Friday, 4:30am-1pm and the ability to work possible overtime due to scheduled outages; electrical experience with 4160 volts and below, generator experience and ability to troubleshoot.

The Division of Operations and Facilities Management (“Facilities,” “Facilities Management” or "FM") provides facilities and operational support to fulfill MD Anderson’s mission to treat and prevent cancer.

More than 1,200 Facilities employees aim to deliver services to you that are needed and valued. This includes all things related to safety and security, property management, logistical and support services, and capital development.

Provides skilled electrical work of the journeyman level in the installations, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution equipment ranging from 480 volts to 5 kilovolts and up.

Performs Routine Tasks on Electrical Equipment and Systems
Installs, repairs, maintains, and services emergency power distribution equipment including generators, transfer switches, metal clad switchgear, circuit breakers, fuel systems and related low voltage and medium voltage equipment and distribution systems.

Installs temporary recorders on equipment and provides report on operating conditions to supervisor.

Emergency Response
Responds to emergency calls regarding all electrical distribution into buildings in the entire Houston area; participates in Hurricane Rideout and Recovery when needed.

Project & Outage Support
Provides project support, commissioning, inspections and coordination of outages of electrical systems for both O&M and Project Management groups.

Performs Corrective & Preventive Maintenance Tasks
Uses electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot electrical equipment and support other departments in troubleshooting their equipment. Troubleshoots electrical distribution equipment and replace or repair defective components. Read, interpret and field verifies electrical schematics, blueprints and floor plans.


Required: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized apprenticeship. Ten years experience in journeyman level electrical work involving interior and exterior wiring and the repair of electrical equipment. Licensed journeyman electrician in the State of Texas.

Preferred: Valid Class A, B, or C Texas driver’s license and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles.

Salary Range: $53,600 - $67,000 - $80,400
